Barre Sculpt

This class is taught by:

Elise Bruce

Elise found her first spinning class back in the day when pay-phones were still plentiful in Manhattan and you always had to have cash for a cab. After her first class, she was hooked on that “runner’s high,” and the calorie burn these classes offered. Years of classes and a baby later she was inspired to become an instructor herself. Elise has been teaching spinning/cycle classes for the last 10 years here in NC and in NYC which has given her great exposure and experience in the industry. A lover of Barre, Yoga and Pilates, lead her to be Barre instructor and has been teaching for the last three years. Music is supreme to how Elise creates her cycle classes, taking her clients on a journey where you connect the beat with your RIDE. Elise is RIDE CYCLE STUDIO’s creator and owner.

Alicia Linstead

Alicia has enjoyed cycling and barre classes for many years. As a special education/preschool teacher and later mother of two, she used spinning to keep up her energy and strength.  In 2006, while rehabilitating from a serious back injury, Alicia discovered Bar Method in, her then local, San Francisco. The exercises were easily modified with help from her instructors allowing her to heal and build her core strength. Barre ultimately played a significant role in her recovery and on going back health.

Since then she hasn't looked back. Barre classes have become the core of her exercise regimen to compliment her cycling classes. Alicia is stronger than ever and continues to see her body change for the better benefiting from the physical and emotional well-being exercise gives her. Alicia is excited to have joined Ride Cycle Studio where cycle and barre classes are joined in one place.  "Yippee!" "They are a great combination for both building and maintaining ones fitness. I'm thrilled to be a part of Ride Cycle Studio, join me for a class to burn those muscles and create a longer leaner fit body."

Erin Shevlin

After devoting much of her time to kung fu from ages five to eighteen, Erin was a bored gym-goer in search of a more satisfying workout until she discovered her love of Pilates and barre. Roll ups and pliés have successfully replaced kicks and punches as her favorite fitness regimen, and she is currently pursuing her comprehensive Pilates certification through Balanced Body.

Originally from the Boston suburbs, Erin has lived in DC and Boston since college, and she's excited to call North Carolina home. She has a B.A. and M.A. from Georgetown, and when not in the studio, you can generally find her planning her next international trip. Italy (along with Pilates and barre) is the key to her heart.

Trina Spiniello

After years dedicated to playing competitive sports, coaching collegiate softball and putting my body through mass amounts of high performance training. I discovered Bar Method in 2012 when I was getting into wedding shape. I hoped it would be the perfect compliment to daily running and bootcamp training. I quickly fell in love with how each class challenged my strength, flexibility, balance and stamina in a way that no one workout alone ever had before. I was HOOKED!

It wasn’t long before I became certified to teach and spent the next 3+ years sharing my love for this barre-based workout with as many clients and friends as possible. I can't say enough positives about the transformations I have seen first hand...inches lost, pounds shed, body types transformed to longer leaner versions. However, the true benefits go beyond the physical as the workout itself is uplifting and empowering, which is why I am so excited to be joining the Ride Cycle Studio staff here in Durham. I look forward to taking along side you or teaching you in class very soon!

Based on the Barre Absolute class but with a little more hot sauce! Generally keeping the light weights and other resistance equipment in play beyond the arm segment. You will be lead through some longer sets and challenging combinations working thighs, booty and core. Always have the option to lower weights and use body resistance. This 60 minute class will increase both your strength and stamina while keeping your body long and lean with proven barre stretches. All levels welcome.
