RIDE ONLY

This class is taught by:

Dawn Shohfi

Dawn's passion for athletics began at an early age as a competitive gymnast. Her enthusiasm for gymnastics drew her to springboard diving in high school where she earned a national champion title and was 8 time All-American diver at the United States Air Force Academy.

During her career as an air force officer and pilot, she continued her active lifestyle of running, mountain biking, spinning, and snowboarding. Always looking for a new challenge, Dawn discovered Barre, and was immediately hooked! Dawn loves the intensity and variety of Barre and Spin, and she is excited to share her passion for seeking new challenges with others.

Chris Bruce

If you want to move to some serious electro house beats, then Chris’ class is what you are looking for. As a former NYC bike messenger and a current local DJ, Chris will navigate your Ride through the traffic and let the music take you to the next level.

“I love music as a fitness motivator” says Chris. “Have you ever been exercising and that certain song will come through the headphones and you feel a burst of energy? That’s your brain taking over and telling your muscles to work harder.” Chris’ class will give your mind and body that extra motivation to bring out your optimum performance.

Hard Work? Yes. Results? Check. Fun? Absolutely.

Maggie Zebrine

Maggie is a UNC Chapel Hill graduate with a passion for fitness and health. She attended her first RIDE class in February of 2014 and has been riding ever since. Her background in dance has turned into a love for barre and yoga classes. Maggie keeps her ear to the ground of the music community and will keep class hot with new beats and old school jams. She will challenge and inspire you to make every RIDE worth the time out of your busy schedule. She is thankful to have found a home at RIDE Cycle Studio and hopes to see you in the saddle!

Carolyn Levy

My love for Barre stems from my years of dance in NYC where I danced professionally with Frank Hatchett, Savion Glover, the Fly Girls of In Living Color. My passion for dance began when I was three years old and has never faded. I have been trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop and theatre and have choreographed and danced for music groups such as Heavy D and The Boyz. My career has been reignited over the past couple of years where I have been teaching Barre classes, along with Indoor Cycling and Personal Training. When I’m not teaching fitness classes, I’m working one on one with my personal training clients on getting fit, healthy and balanced at MY STUDIO in Chapel Hill which I own and operate.

I also hold a degree in Interior Design and have worked independently for 10 years. My philosophy is "commit, let loose and enjoy the music. Everything else will fall in place and you will discover your inner ballerina."

Elise Bruce

Elise found her first spinning class back in the day when pay-phones were still plentiful in Manhattan and you always had to have cash for a cab. After her first class, she was hooked on that “runner’s high,” and the calorie burn these classes offered. Years of classes and a baby later she was inspired to become an instructor herself. Elise has been teaching spinning/cycle classes for the last 10 years here in NC and in NYC which has given her great exposure and experience in the industry. A lover of Barre, Yoga and Pilates, lead her to be Barre instructor and has been teaching for the last three years. Music is supreme to how Elise creates her cycle classes, taking her clients on a journey where you connect the beat with your RIDE. Elise is RIDE CYCLE STUDIO’s creator and owner.

Alicia Linstead

Alicia has enjoyed cycling and barre classes for many years. As a special education/preschool teacher and later mother of two, she used spinning to keep up her energy and strength.  In 2006, while rehabilitating from a serious back injury, Alicia discovered Bar Method in, her then local, San Francisco. The exercises were easily modified with help from her instructors allowing her to heal and build her core strength. Barre ultimately played a significant role in her recovery and on going back health.

Since then she hasn't looked back. Barre classes have become the core of her exercise regimen to compliment her cycling classes. Alicia is stronger than ever and continues to see her body change for the better benefiting from the physical and emotional well-being exercise gives her. Alicia is excited to have joined Ride Cycle Studio where cycle and barre classes are joined in one place.  "Yippee!" "They are a great combination for both building and maintaining ones fitness. I'm thrilled to be a part of Ride Cycle Studio, join me for a class to burn those muscles and create a longer leaner fit body."

This is great for those who want to just take the RIDE portion of Hybrid Classes. Want to take both but are on the WL? You can double book this time.
